Saving Children
Boys Town Saves Children
Imagine you lived in fear. Imagine that you never felt safe and couldn’t sleep at night. Now, on top of that, imagine that you were a child who had no one you could depend on for the care, guidance and love you needed.
Many children today don’t have the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving, nurturing household. Not surprisingly, many of these children never learn the social skills they need, or the opportunity they deserve, to grow into a well-adjusted young adult.
That’s why many of today’s children must be saved, and that’s why Boys Town needs your support.
Every Child Has Potential
Boys Town was founded on one simple belief: that every child has the inherent potential to succeed, no matter what his or her circumstances. So, we strive to help every child, from those who may simply be struggling or in doubt to those who are in need of the most severe behavioral care.
We strive to reunite children with their families whenever possible, or give them the skills and foundation they need to build a life on their own as caring, responsible adults.
Every Child is Unique
Just as every child is unique, so is every child’s level of need. With locations around the country, we provide care for tens of thousands of children through our in-home family services, foster family services and residential youth program. For youth with more severe problems, we offer specialized treatment group homes and intensive residential treatment that can provide more advanced care levels.
Together, these services form part of Boys Town’s Integrated Continuum of CareSM. Children access the services in the Continuum at the level that best suits their needs. As their needs change, they can move from levels of more intensive care to ones of greater independence and empowerment.
Boys Town Foster Family ServicesSM cares for children who need a safe place to live. While providing a caring family, Foster Parents work to reunify children with their parents or other caregivers, whenever possible. Learn more about Foster Family Services.
Boys Town’s Family Home Program provides a family for children ages 10 to 18. Six to eight boys or girls live in each single-family home with a married couple called Family-Teachers. Many of these children have serious emotional and behavioral problems and are taught the skills they need to take control of their lives. The ultimate goal is to reunite children with families whenever possible. Learn more about the Family Home Program.
For Every Child in America
We give children across the United States a voice online at yourlifeyourvoice.org and on the phone through the Boys Town National HotlineSM. Both services provide kids a safe option to speak with trained professionals and connect with someone to offer guidance, support and education. Hundreds of thousands of children struggling with normal issues, as well as those with severe problems such as suicidal thoughts, have reached out to Boys Town and talked to our trained professionals.
- The Boys Town National HotlineSM (800.448.3000) is a free resource and counseling service that assists youth 24/7, year-round, nationwide. Learn more about the Boys Town National Hotline.
